Relentless rain, dense bush, hidden cliff bands, slippery rock, mechanical ...problems, and the constant question: is there even a way to the summit?
Day one ended with more questions than answers. After battling through thick forest and navigating around vertical cliffs, we were forced to turn back and hope we could retrace our route before daylight ran out.
Day two started with renewed determination—and a leaking radiator hose. Once repaired, we climbed back to our high point from the previous day, only to discover the terrain above was even more intimidating than we’d imagined. Every direction ended in cliffs. Time was slipping away. The rain never stopped.
With daylight running short, we committed to one final push.
Working together, the team dug deep, pushing and pulling a bike up the last brutal rock face to stand on a summit that had never before been reached by dirt bike.
Sometimes success isn’t about getting every bike to the top.
Sometimes it’s knowing when one summit is enough.
